Rooted Community Solutions

Consulting for Transformative Urban Planning
Rooted Community Solutions was born from a simple truth:
Our cities and spaces cannot heal or grow equitably if the very people who shape their character are excluded from the planning process.

We are a Denver-based, Indigenous, and woman-of-color-owned consulting firm transforming urban planning by centering community voice, justice, and environmental sustainability.
We facilitate ethical, trust-based collaboration between institutions and historically marginalized communities to advance a world where development uplifts rather than displaces.
Our Services & Expertise
We partner with cities, public agencies, planning firms, tribal entities, and community organizations to deliver plans and processes that are accessible, culturally grounded, and community-driven.
Bridging the gap between urban planners and the communities they serve.
Our Approach
Our Two-Pronged Approach supports planners in engaging communities with cultural competence while equipping residents with the tools and knowledge to shape their futures.
FOR PLANNERS

We offer empathy when guiding planners through the hard work of building trust and repairing harms in the communities they serve.

As urban therapists, we facilitate courageous conversations to move from "box-checking" engagement to true partnership.

Meet Our Founder
Jazmin Bojorquez (she/her/ella)
Jazmin (Raramuri/Mexicana) is a community organizer, educator, and interdisciplinary urban planner who leverages planning as a tool for healing, cultural celebration, and economic mobility. Her expertise spans the fields of International Development, Watershed Science, Public Policy, Federal Indian Law, and Public Health. She specializes in navigating politically nuanced plans by challenging traditional paradigms and shifting the decision-making power back to communities most impacted by structural inequity.
With five years in the planning field and over eight years in mission-driven advocacy, she reconciles technical planning practices with grassroots action. She built her planning foundation at P.U.M.A., gaining expertise in small-area planning, economic recovery, and special improvement districts. She is most known for designing and launching the "Community Navigator Program" for the Near Northwest Small Area Plan, which increased engagement from 21% to 87% and has since been adopted as a standard practice across Denver's Neighborhood Planning Initiative.

Since then, she has consulted independently, expanding her focus to include climate resilience, Indigenous planning, and anti-displacement strategies. In 2025, she launched Rooted Community Solutions to meet the growing demand for equity-based planning that centers community voice, addresses root causes, and promotes long-term sustainability.
CLIENT VOICES
